Jobber Payments Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy governs the types of businesses that may use the Jobber Payments Service and the consequences for violations (the “Policy”). You agree to be bound by this Policy and any additional terms, conditions, or policies that are provided to you in connection with Jobber Payments Service from time to time. This Policy is subject to change at any time without notice, and the changes will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the Jobber Payments Service indicates your acceptance and agreement to the updated Policy. The purpose of this Policy is to help ensure compliance with applicable laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, and the requirements of our third-party payment card network partners and other third-party financial partners, reduce fraud and misuse, and protect the integrity of our Website, App, and services ecosystem.

These terms are supplemental to the Jobber Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Jobber Payments Terms of Service, which bind all users of the Jobber Payments Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Jobber Terms of Service and the Jobber Payments Terms of Service, as applicable.

2. Business Types Generally Supported for Jobber Payments Service

Jobber Payments Service is designed to support local, in-person, and service-based businesses that perform physical work on-site for residential or commercial customers. This includes, but is not limited to, trades and field services such as:

  • Auto Detailing
  • Carpentry
  • Carpet Cleaning
  • Chimney Sweep Services
  • Cleaning
  • Concrete
  • Construction
  • Demolition Contractor
  • Dog Walking
  • Drywall
  • Electrical Contracting
  • Elevator Services
  • Excavation
  • Fence Services
  • Flooring
  • Garage Door Services
  • General Contracting
  • Handyman
  • HVAC
  • Installation Services
  • Irrigation Services
  • Janitorial Services
  • Junk Removal
  • Landscaping
  • Lawn Care
  • Locksmith Services
  • Mechanical Contracting
  • Painting
  • Paving
  • Pest Control
  • Plumbing
  • Pool & Spa Services
  • Pooper Scooper
  • Pressure Washing
  • Property Maintenance

These businesses are generally eligible to access Jobber Payments Service, subject to exceptions which are determined in Jobber’s sole discretion.

3. Business Types Not Supported for Jobber Payments Service

Some businesses may not be eligible to use Jobber Payments Service. These businesses may still use Jobber’s core services (e.g., quoting, scheduling, invoicing), subject to compliance with the Jobber Terms of Service, but will not be approved for payment processing through Jobber Payments Service. Jobber reserves the right to suspend or revoke access at any time for businesses that were previously approved or eligible for Jobber Payments Service, where Jobber determines such business no longer meet the requirements of this Policy. The following categories are non-exhaustive examples of businesses that are not supported by Jobber Payments Service:

  1. Personal Services (Fixed-Location or Walk-In Based)
    • Hair salons, barbershops, and beauty services
    • Nail salons and estheticians
    • Tattoo parlors
    • Massage therapists
    • Apparel or accessory businesses with retail storefronts
  2. Retail or Product-Focused Businesses
    • Drop-shipping operations or online gadget stores
    • E-commerce-only sellers
    • Jewelry and fashion brands
    • Subscription box businesses
    • Artisans or craft sellers (e.g., soaps, candles)
  3. Remote or Digital-Only Services
    • Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers
    • Freelancers, coaches, or consultants operating remotely
    • On-demand platforms or gig-based marketplaces
    • Virtual assistants and digital marketing service providers
  4. Marketing and Distribution Models
    • Lead generation services
    • Affiliate marketing operations
    • Multi-level marketing (MLM) entities
  5. Hospitality and Rental Operations
    • Restaurants, cafés, or food-based businesses
    • Catering-only services
    • Property management for short-term rentals (e.g., Airbnb)
    • Rent collection or rent facilitation services
  6. Rental, Leasing, and Transportation
    • Equipment or vehicle rental services
    • Ride-share or passenger transportation businesses
  7. Event and Creative Services
    • DJs, musicians, or performers
    • Event planning businesses
    • Photography and videography not tied to field service delivery
  8. Regulated or High-Risk Industries
    • Vape or cannabis-related businesses
    • Credit repair or debt consolidation
    • Investment advisors, real estate wholesalers, or similar financial operators

4. Prohibited Business Activities

Use of Jobber Payments Service is further subject to restrictions imposed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Businesses that fall under Prohibited or Restricted Businesses defined by Stripe are not eligible to use Jobber Payments Service. This includes, but is not limited to, certain adult services, gambling, high-risk financial services, virtual currencies, and other regulated industries.

5. Enforcement

You are independently responsible for complying with applicable laws and our policies, including this Policy. Jobber may monitor your transactions and activities for potential violations of this Policy.

Jobber reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Jobber Payments Service at Jobber’s sole discretion if it believes or suspects that any transaction violates this Policy, the Jobber Terms of Service or the Jobber Payments Terms of Service, or is otherwise illegal, unsuitable or presents regulatory, financial, reputational, or operational risk.
