Frank Galvin worked as a plumber for 12 years before starting Frankie’s Plumbing with his wife, Monica, in San Diego, California.

The quoting feature is fantastic. We’re able to go to a customer’s house, look at their problem, quickly convert an assessment into a quote, attach pictures to it, create a deposit, have them sign it, and we’re able to do the work within less than five minutes sometimes.

Frank also customizes quotes with company branding and job photos, helping the business compete with larger plumbing companies. “All the features Jobber has to offer make us look like we’re a huge business. We’re a small family-owned business, but a lot of people are surprised when they realize that we’re that small,” said Frank.

Building trust before the team even arrives

Like many plumbing businesses, Frankie’s Plumbing handles emergency calls throughout the day. Missing a phone call while working in the field could mean missing out on new business.

Now, Frank uses Jobber Receptionist to capture messages and customer details when he can’t answer the phone right away. That lets him follow up quickly between jobs without staying tied to his phone all day.

The AI takes a message. It jots down the information very well. It’s very clear. I’m able to call that person back within a reasonable amount of time, we’re able to get their business, and we don’t lose any money.

Frank also uses on-my-way text messages to send customers an arrival window before the team arrives at a property. This keeps customers informed throughout the service experience and eliminates uncertainty around appointment times. “The communication is clear. Therefore, we look good prior to even showing up,” said Frank.

Getting paid right on the spot

To simplify payments, Frankie’s Plumbing switched from Square to Jobber Payments

Technicians can collect payment on-site using Tap to Pay instead of waiting for checks or follow-up calls later.

We’re able to close out an invoice now. They have a new feature where you can tap to pay on the phone. It just makes it very easy to start the job and close it out at the end of the day.

It’s the confidence that comes from knowing the business is organized. “We’ve been in business for roughly four years, and we’ve been using Jobber for three and a half of those years. We plan on using Jobber for as long as we’re in business,” said Frank.
